The second of our coronal mirror series, we're calling this one Corona Radiata, inspired by Roman Emperors' crowns and laurel wreath combinations. Borrowed from the Greeks and Spartans, the Romans used crowns and wreaths of laurel or olive leaves to crown as a token of divinity, grand reward, and triumphal decoration.

Reflective. Refractive. Resplendent.

 

Recreated in crystals, this corona and wreath was reimagined with 39 individually hand placed refractive and fiery vintage prisms, and finished with our signature mercerized rust patina. Hand-cut and hand-polished teardrops, Russian octagonal crystals in two sizes, and Austrian ovals in two sizes seamlessly hug the edge of this perfectly round vintage double sided mirror, we found while digging through boxes at an estate in Delaware.
 

Forever married to the perfect bottle base, this tiara topped mirror sits perched on an embossed antique aqua seltzer bottle, with a hazy inner fog of smoke gray and milky white. Thick, heavy glass with seeded imperfections, and benign inner fractures to the handsome silhouette add to the overall patina and charm of this special piece. Banded in one of our solder collars, and graced by an antique beaded rosary and Italian medallion, this one of a kind piece is sure to be a stand out in your collection.

These beautiful leaf shaped prisms are extremely rare, and when we are lucky enough to come across them here at Cross Bottle Guy, they always make the most beautiful cross bottles! This one is no exception. Flat back and hand cut, these Austrian crystals are brilliantly refractive and centered on the last of our crystal rosettes, then paired up with our Russian octagonal prisms in two sizes, which burn with brilliant refractory. A large piece, sure to bring a glow to any room of your beautiful home, this is certainly one to add to your collection! 

The cross isn't the only rare piece, however. Married forever through the use of heavy, handwrought,  patinated solder, finished in our signature mercerized rust patina to a long neck green bottle from the early 1920's, and embellished by an antique wooden rosary bead sacrament, this entire handmade piece of art is unique, and a real show stopper!

This beautiful piece of sea shell bottle art is another from the 2016 Summer Series from Cross Bottle Guy. A gorgeous, naturally red fan blade pectin shell with fossilized remains of white anemone is hugged with a solder case finished in our signature, mercerized rust patina.

Our beautifully refractive cat eye oval crystals are always a joy to work with. They never disappoint our collectors, and always result in the most gorgeous Cross Bottle Guy handmade work. This piece is no exception. Hand crafted from 14 of these brilliant and fiery crystals, this new shape for Cross Bottle Guy in 2016 will hopefully be a collector favorite.

 

Centered on a unique, rectangular prisms originally used to hold together strands of Russian chained prisms in a basket chandelier, and accented by octagonal crystals, this one of a kind piece will work beautifully in any of our previous or forth coming collections.

 

Finished in our signature mercerized rust patina, and forever married to a large antique perfumers bottle wrapped in a pair of our solder collars, this lovely finished piece of art is further enhanced by an antique rosary of demure beads.

Hand forged, this beautiful and large metal cross is one of only six that we were able to procure. Each slightly different than the other, there is a wonderful soul to each of these stunning metal open fretwork crosses. Highly detailed on the front only, the cross measures just over four inches tall, nearly twice the size of our incredibly popular pewter antediluvian rosary crosses. This antique paean to Christ, was likely the effort of an amateur metal smith, but the tremendous overall presence of this stunning cross couldn't be more perfect for rough/luxe mix that we have established with our handmade art here at Cross Bottle Guy.

Our bohemian fired, and expertly polished teardrop crystals come together to form one of our most beautifully simple crosses, centered on an antique crystal rosette, filled with a patinated pebble of solder.

An artful study in line and curve, these crystals are forever joined to create a gorgeous cross, embellished with our small Russian octagonal prisms, hand finished in our signature mercerized rust patina.

A shapely silhouette, this cleverly sculpted bottle still bears the gorgeous patina from its many years buried under the clay. It's only February, but we couldn't resist bringing out a piece from the highly anticipated summer collection of bottles for 2016. These flattened Irish scallop shells are really gorgeous, with a lovely graduation of color from the very lightest of blush to a deep apricot and cranberry, this Cross Bottle Guy shell art is finished in a sunburst of solder, complete with our signature mercerized rust patina.

We love using these incredibly refractive, hand-cut, flat backed French pendalogue crystals in our handmade Cross Bottle Guy work, but they're increasingly harder and harder to find. Large and fiery, these mesmerizing prisms are dazzling with a lovely feminine shape that always makes for the most beautiful finished work.

Centered here on an antique rosette, and accented by our brilliant teardrops and smallest Russian octagonal crystals, this gorgeous cross is finished in our signature mercerized rust patina, and forever married to an antique embossed aqua pharmacy bottle.

The handsome silhouette of this bottle is the perfect companion for the feminine shape of the crystal cross which tops it. Absolutely one of a kind, totally unique, and utterly gorgeous this massive crystal cross bottle is our largest crystal cross creation at Cross Bottle Guy to date! At a recent estate auction held in a large carriage house in the Hudson River Valley, we scored a thrilling lot of antique, full-lead, hand-cut and hand-polished chandelier prisms. Completely excited for the many possibilities, we were caught in awe with these 5 extra large, and absolutely stunning French pendalogue leaf-shaped crystals. Heavy and brilliant, the refractory of these hand-cuts is nothing short of mesmerizing. We knew that they absolutely had to be used together, and they have amassed to be the largest cross bottle we have ever had the joy of hand-making.

Centered on a large, radiant German octagonal crystal, and gracefully embellished by triads of our bohemian teardrop prisms, each so dazzling on its own, and further accented by our demure Russian octagonal crystals, the extra large French chandelier pendalogues have made fast and forever friends, and together, they create something remarkably lustrous and incredibly distinctive.

Finished in our signature mercerized rust patina, this incredible piece is forever married to a bottle that is just as rare. A gorgeous, generously large antique French glass apothecary jar used in the French South Quest Pharmacy, Pharmacie du Sud Quest, has a beautiful silhouette, and the most gorgeous amber color. Forget that "beer bottle brown" amber that you've seen in other places. This is truly a sun swept, honey laden, richly textured amber. A wash of color that you have to see to appreciate. Wrapped with two of our large solder collars, and hugged by the elegant and large beads of a vintage rosary, it's a piece you'll never find again.
